🔘 Device Maintenance

Perform the following maintenance steps on a weekly basis to keep your devices running smoothly.

FireStick Maintenance

  1. Go to the FireStick home screen by pressing the Home button.
  2. Scroll right to Settings.
  3. Select Applications.
  4. Select Manage Installed Applications.
  5. Open each app one by one, then select Force Stop and Clear Cache.
  6. Repeat this process for all installed apps.
  7. Uninstall any apps you do not use to free up memory.
  8. Unplug the FireStick from power for at least 5 minutes, then plug it back in.
  9. Open the GatewayHD app again.

Android Box Maintenance

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Device Preferences.
  3. Select Storage.
  4. Open Internal Shared Storage.
  5. Select Cached Data and confirm.
  6. Repeat this step 3 times.
  7. Go back to Apps / Applications.
  8. Select See All Apps.
  9. For each app, select Force Stop and Clear Cache.
  10. Repeat for all installed apps.
  11. Uninstall unused apps to free up memory.
  12. Unplug the device from power for at least 5 minutes, then restart.

Network Refresh

For best performance, also unplug your modem/router for 5 minutes before reconnecting everything.
