Perform the following maintenance steps on a weekly basis to keep your devices running smoothly.
FireStick Maintenance
- Go to the FireStick home screen by pressing the Home button.
- Scroll right to Settings.
- Select Applications.
- Select Manage Installed Applications.
- Open each app one by one, then select Force Stop and Clear Cache.
- Repeat this process for all installed apps.
- Uninstall any apps you do not use to free up memory.
- Unplug the FireStick from power for at least 5 minutes, then plug it back in.
- Open the GatewayHD app again.
Android Box Maintenance
- Go to Settings.
- Select Device Preferences.
- Select Storage.
- Open Internal Shared Storage.
- Select Cached Data and confirm.
- Repeat this step 3 times.
- Go back to Apps / Applications.
- Select See All Apps.
- For each app, select Force Stop and Clear Cache.
- Repeat for all installed apps.
- Uninstall unused apps to free up memory.
- Unplug the device from power for at least 5 minutes, then restart.
Network Refresh
For best performance, also unplug your modem/router for 5 minutes before reconnecting everything.
